Brought her Rav 4 into the Canadian Tire in the Islington area in Toronto it was making a rattling noise. I looked under the Truck and a Muffler pipe Guard was loose banging . It made a very loud rattling noise. She went to Canadian Tire and asked if they could look at her Car. The service advisor told her there was nothing they could do she needed a whole new Muffler system at a cost of $1,200 ?... Read more

Again......................... it was asked if they could tighten two screws on a Muffler Guard ? That's it. You do realize the noise the car makes when a pipe or Muffler or even a Cat Converter is broken or in need of repair ? This car was only making a rattling noise as the Guard was bagging against the bottom of the car. It had two screws missing and l was unable to reach it. My Daughter took... Read more

tried to find out if a certain portable fish finder is completely portable and has its own power supply or does it need to be wired to a heavy marine battery, went to the sports counter and asked about it and the employee just plopped the display model on the counter and i asked to see one in a box and they would not even look it up in their system to see if they had any for me to see what it... My 99' Dodge Stratus had a brand new sound that I didn't recognize, so, since it was Sunday and I was visiting family (away from home), I took it Canadian Tire hoping they'd be able to look at it. It was Sunday at around 4, so I wasn't overly shocked they couldn't squeeze it in, but whatever, it was there, so I went home to mom's place and left it there. They called the next day to say that the... Read more

I recently took my car into be looked at as it had a slight squeaking noise, I left my car overnight as they did not have time to get to it that day apparently. I received a phone call the next day advising me the repairs that are needed to make my car "safe to drive again" would cost me approx. $3500.00. I was shocked how could that even be possible? So of course I asked them polietly to release... Read more

I applied for and received the options card cause they were offering 10 cents a litre off on gas for 30 days. Then they phone me today and say all new sign ups get held for 5 days and I will get 2 weeks and will not get the full 30 days I wish they would advertise what they really want. Even if I paid an amount it would take 5 days to remove the hold. What a ridiculous scam. They say they do... Read more

I bought a new top quality car battery from Canadian Tire for my Ford Explorer. It came with a "Best in the business" warrantee that was for about 5 years. Turns out the the warrantee is only good for 2 years and after that they prorate the thing. So the battery cost about $135 before taxes. It crapped out and wouldn't hold a charge for more than 2 days. Thankfully this happened just before the 2... Read more

I needed to have a saftey inspection for my imported vehicle from the US to Canada. Went to Can Tire and was told I needed "Tie Rods" outer L & R and an inner L. For the tune of 650 + $. Got 2nd opinion. Machanic said nothing wrong but did need a wheel alignment! Wow what a difference. How can places stay in business with the BS they tell people they need to fix when they don't need that work... Read more

I bought a brand new 50cc baja quad from Canadian tire in Grande Prairie Alberta Canada last spring. I assembled what was required and started the machine, it didn't have enough power to run over my foot. I called the CT store the next day and was told I couldn't bring it back and that I would have to deal with Baja. I called them and they said that they would send me a new carb.... Read more
